Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP)

Qualified skilled workers can apply for permanent residency in Canada through the Federal Skilled Trades Programme. A candidate must have at least two years of full-time work experience in a skilled profession (or an equivalent amount of part-time experience) in order to be eligible for FSTP. Only work experience completed after a person has been certified to practise their trade in their home nation is taken into account, and it must have been completed within the last five years. The following occupations meet the National Occupational Classification requirements for the Federal Skilled Trades Programme: Sub-Major Group 726, transport officers and controllers, is not included in Major Group 72, technical trades and transport officers and controllers.
